Date manufactured 30/09/1966 – confirmed by VW

The van was built and shipped directly to Indonesia in 1966 were it has spent the first 42 years of its life.
I have records dating back to December 1996 showing it has been used (well taxed at least) in Jakarta.

It was imported to the UK during 2008 and dry stored until I purchased the van in February 2010 as a none running, none registered project.

The major items undertaken before it was MOT’d and registered in the UK included:

IRS work on the rear suspension (Creative Engineering chassis legs)
Coil over adjustable front suspension setup (Red 9 Design)
New King Pins
Front Disc break conversion (CSP)
Reconditioned 1600TP Engine (The Engine Shop)
BRM 15” x 5.5” wheels (with 175x55 front, 185x65 rear tyres)

It passed the MOT on the 14th April and the DVLA issued the first UK registration (in my name) on the 19/04/2010

The van then made its virgin run out to Big Bang four days later, completing the 150 mile round trip without any problems.
